Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management

The department of Tourism and Hospitality Management observed its 3rd Founding Anniversary on 09, 2016. On that occasion the department organized a grand ceremonial event on the day, at Banquet Hall, Daffodil International University. This gigantic event was presided by Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, DIU. Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer, DIU, Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of business and economics, DIU, Mr. Mahbub Parvez, Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, other faculty members, and industrial experts were also present in this event.

The main objective of the event was to share the practical knowledge, experience, moments and story from last years. Moreover, sharing future scopes and career opportunities in this industry also motivated the students of the department. Shahab Uddin, General Manager, Best Western Plus Heritage & Director, ISC Tourism & Hospitality Sector, B-SEP Project, Implemented by ILO, Mr. Masud Hossain, Managing Director, The Bengal Tours Limited, Mr. Taufiq Rahman, Secretary General, PATA Bangladesh Chapter, Mr. Fariaz Morshed Chowdhury, Assistant Director of Sales, Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Mr. Ashraf Ud Dowlah, Director , BBQ Restaurant & EON Group, Mr. Mohammad Shamim Mollah, Executive Director, Nascent Gardenia, Baridhara, Mr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Head of Sales & Marketing of Platinum Hotels, Ms. Farnaz Mahbub, Assistant Editor of The Travel World were present at the Anniversary program.

Industrial experts shared their professional experience, observation and gave some guidelines to the students. They emphasized on the effective cooperation between the private and public sectors of this industry. They also shared about the importance on policy development as well as successful implementation of the plans.

The session was followed by lunch, prepared and served by the students of the department. They ensured proper hospitality of the guest and collected the signature along with feedback from the guest on a particular board. The event was end with a colorful cultural program.
