To encourage, motivate and share the practical knowledge on Hospitality Industry of Bangladesh, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Daffodil International University organized a seminar on “Culinary Arts and Live Cooking Show”  on July 21, 2016 at DIU Auditorium. Mr. Tony Khan, International Celebrity Chef & President, Tony Khan Culinary Institute & Hotel Management was present as the chief guest at the seminar. Presided over by Prof. Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics of Daffodil International University, the seminar was also addressed by Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Engr. A K M Fazlul Hoque, Ph D, Registrar, Mr. Mahbub Parvez, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Mr. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Manager-HR, Administration & PR and Mr. Mahbub Amin Nahiyan, Head of Marketing of Tony Khan Culinary Institute and of Hotel Management. 

Mr. Tony Khan who is one of the renowned chefs of the world and has vast experience in the field of culinary industry shared his professional experience and practical knowledge of long time career in this sector and discussed the future career of this industry. He urged the students to gain proper knowledge, develop skills and change the attitude to become a professional chef. He said, the hospitality industry offers a wide variety of jobs surprisingly across a broad range of sectors, from hotels, restaurants and events to finance and luxury retail. At this moment 40,000 employment opportunity still prevails in this sector in Bangladesh, he added. It is considered one of the highest paid salaried jobs in the world. He also encouraged students to be affiliated with practical knowledge through developing network and acquiring essential skills of this sector. Then he showed a practical cooking session and conducted a open discussion session.
